REALITY CHECK - The dream lives on... (Conclusion)
Comprehensive Classroom Management Plan

This dream I have of becoming a teacher is nearing the reality phase.  I can taste it! I can feel it!  Taking a step back from all the lofty goals and ideals, philosophies and theories, dreams and visions; I see glimpses of the darker side as well.  In my placements I have witnessed teachers that have given up on their dreams.  I have seen teachers battered about by the ever-changing winds; the pressures from above, and below.  I have seen the best of ideas and intensions fall to rubble at their feet as they discover many of the things they thought they knew were useless in the face of new circumstances.  But despite all that, I am excited and enthusiasatic; I am hopeful and inspired; because I have also witnessed teachers whose commitment, dedication and positive approach literally changed their students' lives.  All this being accomplished with shrinking budgets and scarce resources.  I want to be a part of that!

Bottom line: this Comprehensive Classroom Management Plan is not the panacea that will cure all classroom troubles, but I believe it will go a long way towards helping me effectively contend with anything that comes my way.
